The Box & Needle shop in Tokyo.
A great way to store your jewellery and other little loose bits and pieces.
Think hat boxes, tissue boxes, shoe boxes, jewellery boxes, photo boxes + more.
A cute Box & Needle paper button used for gift wrapping.
These magnet boxes are such a good idea!
A gorgeous box brooch and decorative papers.
Beautiful albums and notebooks.
A couple of the boxes I brought back with me.
If pretty papers and beautiful boxes are your thing, then you will REALLY love this shop. Box & Needle is a beautiful little store I visited in Tokyo that specialises in decorative boxes and stationery. Paper is sourced from around the world and brought back to the Box & Needle workshop in Kyoto where each and every box is handmade by artisans to display and sell in the Tokyo store.
Box & Needle make boxes in many shapes and sizes and for every occasion too. Their bevel edged ring boxes are devine and so are their little box brooches. Every box I picked up was a little work of art and the handiwork was so inspiring. These are the kind of boxes you store precious things in for safekeeping for a very long time.
Box & Needle is located in an upmarket part of Tokyo that is home to other artisan shops like the beautiful Kohoro shop pictured below. This shop is definitely one of my favourites. Their selection of handmade ceramics is amazing. I experienced true love for a teapot here and next trip I think I’ll have to go back and get it!
