Since my last post on crumpled paper I was contacted by Jeff Taylor who kindly pointed me in the direction of artist Malcolm Rains. So I checked it out and look what I found. It seems this amazing artist has truly mastered the art of crumpled paper. Thanks for the link Jeff! Above: Pynyx.

Malcolm Rains studied architecture then became a sculptor and then moved to painting shortly thereafter. These are his paintings of crumpled sheets of paper. I could seriously stare at them all day! The details are amazing and he really captures light and shadow so perfectly. I’m imagining one of these on my wall right now. Niiiiiiiiice! Above: Nikopolis.
