sculpted paper
Artist Jae Ko shapes dramatic sculptures from rolled paper, glue and ink. She unravels large rolls of everyday office paper to form these works of art. Aren’t they just amazing?
Part of Ko’s process is to immerse her works into large vats of ink leaving them to dry over a period of months. She says, “The edges of infinitely long pieces of paper, create line drawings which spiral, tighten and loosen depending on how I roll them.” As the paper takes the ink and dries, it elongates and swells into these amazing organic sculptural forms guided by Ko’s design. Wow!
